Anomabo Beach Resort

On Saturday we left the house at 5:30am. In Ghana, the earlier you leave can make all the difference in how long it takes you to get somewhere. On the way, we tried Chin chin, Boiled peanuts, and Mashed plantain in leaf that we bought from a vendor on the side of the road. They were all very good.
2 1/2 hours later, we arrived at Anomabo Beach Resort. All I can say is wow! This place was gorgeous! Everywhere you walk is fine sand and the place is covered with Palm trees. When you drive in you can see the ocean all the way through.
We asked for an early checkin, but good thing we did, because they didn't have our reservation on record. We finally got our rooms and then headed for Kakum national park.

Kakum National Park is gorgeous! It is tropical rain forest and full of animals and butterflies. Our group went on a canopy walk. Wow that was so much fun! Pictures will come later.
After we left, we drove around trying to find the village church we would be attending Sunday morning. After a while, we were successful and were able to head back to the resort for some beach time!
Lunch came on our way back. We stopped at Hans' Cottage. This was a resort with a restaurant that had crocodiles swimming in the pond around us. It was pretty cool and the birds were beautiful. After a long time waiting for our food and receipt, we were finally able to go to the ocean.

The ocean was amazing! It was so good to cool off, have some fun, and watch the sun go down over the palm trees. If we went too far west in the ocean, there was a lot of trash coming in with the tide and waves. Some of it was disgusting, some of it scared us, for fear of it being a fish. All in all it was perfect.

After a quick shower, we all met for evening devotions. We went near the beach on some chairs and sang some songs. The setting was perfect.
After devos, some of us finally got hungry. We went to our resort restaurant, and we all ordered strawberry milkshakes and French fries. The milkshakes weren't cold and didn't even taste like a shake at all. It tasted like nesquik milk. Not too great.

At 10:00 it was time for bed. We each have our own little huts which are our rooms. Malinda and I shared a hut and the beds were super hard and two inches apart from each other. But we had air conditioning to sleep with during the night. It was freezing in our room, but felt amazing.
