Sunday was an interesting day. We we woke up at 5:30 so we could go watch the sunrise. However, it was raining, so we went back to bed for 2 hours. Then we got up to go eat breakfast. We found out that Sarah wasn't feeling well. This was saddening to all of us. There was a lot of things for breakfast: fruit, omlets, sausage, bacon, and many other things.
After packing up our things, we locked our hut and went out to the van. Standing out in the humidity felt like a ton of bricks. This was the most humidity I've ever felt in my life. From that point on, I haven't felt good all day.
We went to the village church we found yesterday. They welcomed us with open arms. Half of the service was in English for us, the other half was in their native language Twi. It was awesome to worship with other Lutherans but in two languages. Our offering today we pooled together, and made a donation towards a project of theirs to raise the funds for electricity. They greatly appreciated it. I was still not feeling well and constantly fanning myself.
Sad day: the van died on us. It wouldn't start when we were going to leave the church. This was a bummer for me, all I wanted to do was sleep in the ac. About 20 minutes later, we get the battery wire hooked up properly and we were able to start the car.
Sarah was feeling better, so we went to pick them up from the resort. We then drove to one of the slave castles in Cape Coast. It was interesting to look at. Ivan had to stay in the car to make sure we were able to start it, so I slept in the van in the ac while everybody else ate lunch and went on the slave castle tour. It was a blessing for me that the car broke, so I was able to stay in there and not get even more sick. I heard it was amazing. I'm sad I missed it. I got sick in the car right after we left, but felt so much better after. We made it back to the house safely. I'm exhausted and ready for bed.
