The Seminary

This morning, we were able to sleep in a little bit. We had breakfast at the guest house: pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and juice! It was delicious!
At 9:00, we left for All Saints Lutheran School in Anya. This school is much, much smaller than Trinity. They have classrooms for grades 1-6, and the preschool through kindergarten is all in the church. We did two separate chapel services for the kids, very similar to the other school. It was fun however to have the entire group, all 12 of us, to do chapel together for once. There are two missionary/teacher women who live on the compound that the school is on. One of them, Coral, came and spent the rest of the day with us.

After we left Anya, we were headed to Chicken Inn at the mall for lunch. On our way, it turned into a total downpour. It was so difficult to see and drive. I don't now how Ivan does it. He dropped us off to get food, then went back to the guest house to get something. They never made it to the house because traffic and the weather were so bad.

We ate lunch in the car, and drove to St. Peter's Luthetan School in Medina. This school had more children, but some of the classrooms were difficult to look into. When we arrived the children were practicing traditional African dances for their graduation ceremony. There were so cool to watch! We did two more chapel services for the kids at St. Peter's. They loved it! It was so hard to say goodbye to the kids today because we were only able to spend one day with them.

After we left, we drove to the Evangelical Lutheran Church Seminary - Ghana. This was a very cool place to be at. It is very small and only a one building campus, but it is very nice compared to the surrounding town. We were able to I up to the top and stand on the roof area. It was so serene up there from the previous rain and the fog. That is what I pictured Africa to look like. It was beautiful.
We only had one service planned for the seminary at 6:00pm. This was for the students at the seminary, their families, and the town. There weren't a lot of kids at first, but about 45 minutes into it, there were over 90 children in attendance at the service and we were able to sing more songs with them. They absolutely loved it!

While we were ending the program, there were a ton of these flying termite bugs that came into the building. They were out because of the rain and attracted to the lights. I've never seen so many bugs in my entire life. It was rather disgusting. We had to hurry up and pack the van with as little light as possible to reduce the risk of getting bugs in the van. Luckily these bugs die quickly, so it wasn't too bad. The bugs even covered the entire road on our way back to the house.
For dinner we had pizza and homemade caramel that Ivan made. It was again delicious. It's been an exhausting day. Only two more days left!
