The children loved chapel today. We Onlu do junior high and primary this week, except for Friday. Our story was about Jesus and the miraculous catch of fish. Their favorite song is JOY! They absolutely love dancing to it. At the end of chapel, we handed out cards with a picture of Jesus on it and a bible verse on the back. They loved the card, and pretty much anything else we give them.
For breakfast we were given corn flakes, a vegetable/cheese grilled sandwich, and milk powder. It wasn't too bad.
After breakfast we went and played outside with the kids at their break time. The kids absolutely loved having all of us out there with them. They attack us every time they see us! I got to learn a game called ompey, which is very hard for me to play! We then resorted to down by the banks in the shade. They always made me start. These kids are awesome.
When it was time, we went to do crafts with Primary 6 sparrows, which is 6th grade. We are doing the same craft today as we did Friday because we love it so much. They were not as interested as the 8th graders, but still enjoyed us all the same.
For lunch we had fried fish mixed with cabbage, and French fries. We noticed that in the ketchup that came along with the fries, the main ingredient was sugar, and yes it did taste very sweet.
After lunch we went to do crafts with JHS 1 diamond and P 6 falcons which is 7th grade and 6th grade. The 7th graders loved the craft and asked for more fish. The 6th graders enjoyed it, as well as their teacher.
When we got back to our room, dessert was waiting for us: watermelon! Having cold and juicy fruit on hot, humid days are so refreshing. Our group left to go pick up the other group from St. Pauls's and this time we took the highway/toll road. It is very interesting. It was built by Americans so it is called the Walker Bush highway. There are lots of people on it and even people walking on the side of the road. It is so interesting and odd to see. It's weird to think this is normal here.
Today was a fabulous but exhausting day!
